REPORT ON PLACEMENT ASSISTANCE CELL ACTIVITIES 2007-08
- Resume writing was taught to the students of BCA III and B.Sc. (CS) III in October 2007. They then wrote their resumes and which were proof-read by Ms. Poonam Singh.
- A seminar on career counseling was organized by the society on 13th October 07 in which Mr. Ankur Malhotra from Trinity, Chandigarh (an institute giving courses for MBA training) gave a lecture on how to pursue M.B.A. after graduation and gave the information regarding the best b schools of India. Ms. Isha Singh and Mr. Sibaparsad Ghosh also delivered lectures on communication skills and how to appear in interviews and group discussions.
- A one week seminar on personality development was delivered by Mr. Rajneesh Sachdev of Kalptaru in October 2007. Students were taught corporate skills and life skills in an extremely interactive manner through movies and role play.
- TCS, a software company conducted a joint campus placement test and interview at Chandigarh Engineering College, Landran, Mohali in October 2007. Ms. Ramandeep and Ms. Richa (B.Sc.(CS) III) cleared the test conducted by them.
- Ms. Renu Singh and old student of B.Sc. (CS) of our college, who is working as a software tester at Accenture in Mumbai had an interactions with the it students on 29th august 2007. She discussed her views with students regarding her experiences in the company, placement procedures in MNCs, salary packages etc.
- On 19th august 2007 the unit member of ICICI prudential life insurance Mr. Pankaj Kumar had come for giving the valuable information regarding rapid growing insurance sector. He acquainted students with the different aspects related to marketing and other job prospects in the insurance sector. Some of the students filled the forms and are doing part time job in the same field.
- Students were informed about the following placement drives (through placement notice board) :
